The depth of discharge line is the one people underestimate. A 10kWh lithium bank gives you around 9kWh of genuinely usable energy. The BMS. The battery management system handles cell balancing, temperature cutoffs, over-current and short-circuit protection. It is the component that determines whether your battery lasts fifteen years or three. A cheap pack with a weak BMS is not a bargain, it is a countdown.
